A WORLD-RISING FINDING OF A SOMBATHELY CASTLE: Dávid Mészáros, founder of Smartkas

Vegetable and fruit production in all months of the year, fully automated, with low space requirements, 25-50 times faster

A few years ago, Dávid Mészáros was included in the list of the 30 most talented young people under 30 by the American Forbes magazine. He became world-famous for creating and registering in the Netherlands his company Smartkas, which designs and builds smart glass houses, or indoor vertical farms, using renewable energy. These smart glasshouses are capable of producing, in a fully automated environment controlled by artificial intelligence, vegetables and fruit that countries could only import without them, in small areas and in all months of the year. These include strawberries and other berries, tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, herbs, but also vanilla, wasabi, saffron and hops. Their growth cycle is 25 to 50 times faster than that of a regular greenhouse crop, depending on the crop, and the fully controlled conditions mean that they can be harvested continuously from January to December, without the use of any pesticides.

Dávid Mészáros originally moved to the Netherlands to study for a Master's degree in law, but soon stayed and started working on EU agricultural and smart city projects: in eight years, managing around 40 successful projects, he learned how to build his own business, which today proves nothing less than that it would be much easier to supply all of humanity with fruit and vegetables. It is no coincidence that within two or three years, David and his company have become known in many countries of the world, received by presidents, royalty and emirs.

The guest of the Friderikusz Podcast this time is Dávid Mészáros.
